For in-house teams & law firms

The first read of every contract, done in minutes.

Counsel AI takes the screening work off your desk. Upload an NDA, a supplier contract, a DPA or a DSAR and it comes back with a structured, clause-by-clause result a solicitor can check over a coffee. Fourteen workflows across commercial, privacy, IP, employment and litigation, built by a practising UK solicitor.

Free contract check — no account, no card, nothing stored · 14-day trial when you want the full review

Mutual NDA — first-pass check Yellow

3.1

“The obligations of confidentiality set out in this clause 3 shall continue for a period of seven (7) years from the date of disclosure.”

Margin noteTerm runs 7 years — longer than the 2–3 years standard for ordinary confidential information.

4.2

“Confidential Information does not include information which the Receiving Party can demonstrate was lawfully in its possession prior to disclosure.”

Margin noteNo independent-development carve-out — you could be caught by work you build yourself.

9.1

“For twelve (12) months following termination, neither party shall solicit or employ any employee of the other party.”

Margin noteNon-solicit hidden in clause 9 — an NDA is not the place for it.

Illustrative example. The clause wording is generic NDA boilerplate written for this page — not a client document, not a real matter.

SecurityRegulated legal data

Built around the obligations real legal teams carry

Designed by a UK solicitor, for documents that cannot be handled casually.

GDPR-aligned

A clear sub-processor list covers Anthropic, our hosting provider and Stripe. A Data Processing Agreement governs the document data we handle on your behalf.

Not used for training

Your documents are processed to produce your result and nothing else. They are never used to train models. Retention is configurable, with a 90-day default.

Audit trail

Every analysis is logged with the model used and a timestamp, and carries an explicit “draft for solicitor review — not legal advice” marker.

“I built Counsel AI because I was tired of watching qualified people lose their evenings to first-pass screening. It does that first read and shows its working. A solicitor still makes every call — the tool just gets them to the decision faster.”

Frequently asked questions

What is Counsel AI?

Counsel AI does the first read of legal documents for in-house teams and law firms. It runs 14 workflows across commercial, privacy, IP, employment and litigation — NDA triage, contract and DPA review, DSAR responses and more — and returns a structured result for a solicitor to check. It is built by a practising UK solicitor.

Does Counsel AI give legal advice?

No. Counsel AI produces AI output for informational and workflow-assistance purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice and does not create a solicitor–client relationship. Every result carries a "not legal advice" note, and you should not act on any output without review by a qualified solicitor.

How do I sign in?

Counsel AI uses passwordless magic-link sign-in. Enter your work email and we email you a secure one-time link — there is no password. The first person to sign in for a new organisation becomes its admin.

What does the free trial include?

New organisations get a 14-day free trial. No card is required to start, and you are not charged anything during the trial. The trial includes all features with a small analysis allowance so you can evaluate the product end to end.

What counts as one analysis?

One analysis is one successful run of any single workflow — an NDA triage, a contract review, a DSAR response and so on. Browsing the knowledge base, asking the support assistant, and runs that fail validation before they start are not counted.

How do the plans and quotas work?

Each plan includes a number of seats and a number of analyses per calendar month, shared across your organisation. Allowances reset on the 1st (UTC) and do not roll over. The Business plan includes unlimited analyses. Exact figures are shown in the app.

What happens when I hit my monthly limit?

Runs return a clear "monthly limit reached" message until the start of the next month, or until you upgrade to a plan with a larger allowance. Nothing is lost — your past analyses remain available.

Where is my data stored?

Your documents and analyses are hosted in the EU (EU (Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany)). Your documents are processed to produce your result and are never used to train models.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. Documents you submit are processed only to produce your result. They are not used to train any model. Every analysis is logged with the model used and a timestamp for your audit trail.

Who in my team can see my analyses?

Analyses are scoped to your organisation — people in your organisation can see them; people outside it never can. Isolation is enforced at the API. The first user is the admin; others join as members.

How is billing handled?

Payments are processed by Stripe. Counsel AI never sees or stores your full card details. Upgrades apply immediately; if a subscription is cancelled, the organisation reverts to the trial tier at the end of the period.

My sign-in link is not working — what do I do?

Sign-in links are single-use and expire after a short window. Request a fresh link from the sign-in page and use the newest email. If it still fails, email support@counsel-ai.org.

Can the support assistant give me legal advice?

No. The in-app support assistant answers product, billing and troubleshooting questions only. It will not perform legal analysis — that is the job of the paid skills, under qualified solicitor review.
